@@TristanPope I wish they had a black color to match my other work devices but I think white although the pink is cool. Followup question, how do the keycaps feel? Are they similar to the flow material? They have a particular feel that I absolutely love!

You won't regret it tbh. Unless you must have the shine throughs.

@@m4mbr4 it’s the exact same. Those switches are literally silent. The only difference would be the specter in the flow. But even that is about a 10% margin of difference.

Yeah this one is pretty damn gorgeous lighting. The silent switches are super unique as well. I like Kailh switches very much.

I actually have the Q3 and Q0 coming for the split layout from the num pad. That and a Hall effect keyboard too. So if that feels right on the desk who knows probably? Haha. It’s a rabbit hole!! But this one is def an amazing choice that anyone would be happy with as end game.

@@TristanPope Thanks for the reply, and as you have mentioned in the video, you're not going back to the low profile anymore? :O the HE keyboards (wooting, etc) seems to give you that fast typing response with modifiable acctuation point, so you dont have to press the key down as much which is sort of what low profile keyboards lovers like... just a thought

@@JINNY-dl5ykyup def have an HE on the way. Yeah for travel low profile for home this keyboard is butter and just a pleasure to use.

The leds are actually south facing leds.

@@TristanPope oh my bad... would it be right of me to say the pcb has south facing leds, the switches are north facing, and the key caps are south shine through? if so, thats just bad on keychron's part.

@@gregg582so I spoke with Keychron and they even agree they can increase the RGB output. The switches are south. The rgb is south. But the dispersion just isn’t strong enough for those caps.

Honestly for what it offers. I don’t find the price to be that bad. I’ll tell ya why: logitechs keyboard when I bought it was 259$ more than this and made of all plastic and broke often. No way to fix it. This is made of Thor’s hammer. And should last a VERY long time. Now that being said, I find the prices of most things these days to be out of this world. So yes even this which in the “market” is priced very well, in terms of what it used to be, it’s insane. Keyboards used to cost 10$ and 50$ max for a good one. So I feel ya.

@@feuerstern3001 the keyboard doesn’t feel good for typing and the sound is bad as well. All other keyboards I’ve tried felt good and sounded good that I mentioned. This one was not a good experience. I liked the layout and the design that’s it. The big important thing: typing experience was horrible. Even slowed my typing down. Hope that sums it up better.

@@TristanPope Yes that helps thanks you! From the video it seemed like the sound was your main gripe not the typing experience. However I'm still a bit confused on you mentioning they should get switches from Gateron but those are the only switches I can select on the website. Did they change the switches between your review and now or am I not understanding something correct?

@@feuerstern3001so we started with the normal gateron browns. Which sadly were horrible. They sent me Keychron bananas. Which were even worse. Overall Keychron has been amazing with this and I’m not in love with their full size, see my latest video and a few videos to come. But yeah both the low profile gaterons and keychrons were bad compared to the ones offered by say Nuphy. They have an older version. I am very new to this so I can def see how my words can be confusing and u apologize. I hope to get better as I learn more :) but honestly for someone who wants a low profile that just works… it kinda says it all in spades on how this didn’t haha. Appreciate ya keeping me honest!

I think the flaw for some other people are the sounds. But for my case, I can still take that for as long as I am able to achieve the layout that I badly needed for work (K17 Pro layout) -- also a note to myself: work is my priority right now :D Also, I can switch between my Cowberry linears (if I feel I need that smooth typing), or lubed Gateron Chocolate tactiles (if I need to get serious this time) For the "flawed" sound, I pretty much reduced that by adding some bouncy feet (bought from a shop online) to this keyboard, without opening the keyboard, so I can place it on my laptop when typing. For the knob, I don't have major issues with that since I can turn it by using one finger even if it a bit stiff. I think some people missed to check out the K17 Max which is the improved version of this.

You’re very welcome! Do you have the front shine through caps? And what switches? I’m learning that perhaps the switches do not disperse the rgb well enough into the keys. And yeah I’m not in the dark ever thanks to monitor lights haha. But I get ya. It wouldn’t be bad at all except these front facing caps. I have the Q3 on the way in white. So stay tuned. I’ll check it out in more depth with different keys.

​@@TristanPope Yes my black one has the south facing legends. And I did an experiment last night. I made it as bright as possible in the room where the computer is located was able to see the legends perfectly (the rgb was perfectly legible) And I have the red switches

@@TristanPope you don’t happen to live close to a showroom do you? I’m also tall and thinking of moving on from my current “gaming chair”. Most of the reviewers are much shorter than I am so not sure what to do. Now that HM doesn’t have free returns I don’t want to take a leap without more info on it

Honestly the Lofree is the quietest I’ve reviewed. EVERYTHING will be louder than a scissor switch apple keyboard. But this one has the best sound.
